Our diligent search service is at the heart of Orphan Works Hub. We ask clients to provide us with a digitised image of the work and any available metadata.
Our agentic AI-based platform, housed in our own secure Azure-hosted cloud, analyses the digitised materials and where possible, enhances the metadata with information it learns from the image. The platform then searches an extensive range of relevant accessible digital records, including information provided by our partners representing rights owners and image libraries, and provides a comprehensive report of search findings, including the details of any potential rights holder or representative identified or, if there is none, a conclusion that the work is an orphan.

If a copyright holder can be found, we can help to facilitate agreements between them and our clients quickly and efficiently.
Based on our understanding of the ways our clients’ prefer to work with rights holders and the details of their intended use of the work, we reach out to rights holders on their behalf to confirm ownership and agree an appropriate basis for use of the work.
Manage
Copyright claim management
Occasionally, if attempts to trace rights holders have not succeeded and the work is treated as an orphan, clients may be notified of an assertion of copyright.
In these circumstances we can manage the claim for our client, handling communication with the claimant, obtaining all the necessary information, assessing the claim and helping our client to put in place a suitable remedy where appropriate.
Maintain
Ongoing record maintenance
Information sources evolve continually, new information becomes available and assessment sin relation to copyright can become outdated.
We can provide periodic maintenance services to update clients copyright records and refresh assessments and recommendations.
